Speaker:

Recently todd ask ralph

Speaker:

Our company recently purchased an older dye cutter and no manuals

Speaker:

were supplied with the machine.

Speaker:

It's much like one of our other die cutters, but a few controls

Speaker:

and features are different.

Speaker:

In particular, the feeder has a feature.

Speaker:

We were told our skip feed and dual feed.

Speaker:

Do you know what they are and what they would be used for.

Speaker:

Ralph reached out to his friend, Dwayne trader of Schrader

Speaker:

studios for a little help.

Speaker:

And they replied.

Speaker:

Todd says older.

Speaker:

So I'll assume it's a gear-driven machine.

Speaker:

They have some limitations that many of the newer generation of

Speaker:

servo driven machines don't he also says he doesn't have manuals.

Speaker:

Let's quickly touch on that first.

Speaker:

For the safety of everyone, call the OEM and request a set

Speaker:

of manuals for the machine.

Speaker:

If the OEM is no longer in business.

Speaker:

Research and find out who might have bought the company and, or

Speaker:

the intellectual property rights.

Speaker:

Make sure you have your machine serial and model number in

Speaker:

hand when you make the call.

Speaker:

They go into a little more detail about the manuals and then they

Speaker:

move on to the feeder issue.

Speaker:

They explained that skip feed feeds one sheet for two rotations

Speaker:

of the print or die cylinder.

Speaker:

And dual feed feeds two sheets for each rotation of the print cylinder or Durham.

Speaker:

They then go on to discuss some of the challenges that might be face.

Speaker:

And what to watch out for.
